About Julia Osborne

First published in 2013, my novel The Midnight Pianist (TMP) was released in a 2nd edition in 2015 by ETT Imprint.

Although I wrote it with young adult readers in mind, it’s the baby boomers who are getting back to me to say how much they love it. I set in in an Australian country town in 1960, so there’s a nostalgic hit that is touching the hearts.

TMP has morphed into a Series: Book 2 Playing with Keys released in December 2016. The 3rd book will be released in 2017, Song for Emilia. TMP novels fit the crossover genre.

In 2002 I published my adult novel Falling Glass, with a grant from the Australia Council for the Arts. Set in Sydney, the Australian east coast and on the road, it references the 1991 Gulf War and how we heard about it in the media. Five very different characters take you on their journey – their loves and hates, their ambition and apathy.

I have written many short stories that have been widely published in literary journals and national magazines, and broadcast on ABC Radio National (Aust).
