About Melissa Volker

Originally from Albany, NY Melissa attended NYU for theater in the 1980s. The era of CBGBs, The Limelight, Studio 54.  She lived in NYC for 14 years, appearing in a Clarence Clemmons muic video in the early 80's, some off-Broadway shows, and an appearance on the short-lived t.v. show, "Tattingers".  Eventually, looking for a saner life, she left NYC, and acting, and moved to Boston. While writing had always been part of her life, it took a back seat to other things. In Boston she met her husband, Christopher, and at the age of 40, had their son. They moved out to Western MA where they now reside.

“Delilah of Sunhats and Swans’ is her debut, literary fiction novel.

She also just released a collection of ‘vignette-stories’ entitled, “Still, Life: a collection of echoes”, and a teen fantasy adventure novel described as 'a little Alice in Wonderland, a bit of The Phantom Tollbooth, and a dash of Harry Potter, it sports a quirky 13 year old girl as the hero, and is slated for release in early December.

She is also a photographer and views each endeavor as two sides of the same coin, each reflecting how she views the world.
