About Micah Genest

Micah Genest was born in Québec, Canada, graduated from Concordia and McGill University in Montréal, studying English literature, theology, and education.His works tend to use gallows humour, dark/bizarre fantasy, and satire. Pushing the literary boundaries of contemporary conventional children's literature (or children in literature), his writings explore an array of troubling/controversial subjects, much like early-modern literature for children, and a touch of modern.Inspiration for his works derive from European and American fairytales; classic children novels, such as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz series, Peter Pan and Wendy, and Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland; as well as late medieval romances, and Georgian literature on sensibility.
