About Jo Ann V. Glim

Jo Ann V. Glim was born in Chicago and raised in the Pacific Northwest in a three generational household. Growing up, she heard rumors about her family. Did her grandfather really ride with Buffalo Bill Cody? Was her father’s blood wealthy plantation owners? She didn’t know for sure; only heard rumors.

When she was thirty five, she inherited the family Bible and was told: “By the way, your maiden name is not Elliott.” This seed took thirty years to blossom but became the award winning book, “Begotten With Love: Every Family Has Its Story,” the First Place winner in the Florida Writers Association 2014 Royal Palm Literary Awards for Biography – Published).

Glim, in the meantime,  began her career as a disc jockey/copywriter in Chicago on the all jazz radio station WSDM-FM and through the years worked in the following markets: KMPX-FM (Underground) San Francisco; and KIKI-AM (Top 40) Honolulu; but her first love was always writing. She is a forty-year freelance veteran with credits that include: Hallmark Cards; one-liners for nationally know comedians; and an award-winning weekly column “Day to Day Pomposities and Other Illusions.”

Glim was also fascinated with the inner workings of business management and, now married and living in the suburbs, wanted to experience corporate life. She worked her way into management in human resources. After sixteen years she and her husband retired to the Suncoast of Florida with their rescued Scottie, Lucy.

Look for her second book to debut the beginning of 2016.
