About Deb Cupples

My new book is out and available on Amazon:  It Is About You: How American Government Works and How to Help Fix It.  The book is a  nonpartisan, plain-language guide to how the U.S. Government works (or should work) and how we can help fix it. Yes, parts of it are broken.

Also, I ‘ve co-authored two other books:

Grammar, Punctuation, & Style: A Quick Guide for Lawyers and Other Writers (West, 2013).

Legal Drafting: Litigation Documents, Contracts, Legislation, and Wills (West, 2012).

It’s not sexy stuff, but it’s useful.

I’ve been a law-school professor since 2006 and have taught courses about–

– Legal document drafting.

– Art Law.

– Legislative interpretation.

– Constitutional interpretation.

Before teaching, I practiced law for a couple years. I still practice here and there and do some pro-bono work. I’ve done volunteer work for political candidates’ campaigns, and I ran for local office. I lost, but talk about an experienced-based. education.

My formal education includes a law degree, a Master’s degree in political science, and a Bachelor’s degree in English.
