About Cort Fernald

Cort Fernald has been a professional writer with newspaper and magazine publishing credits spanning nearly 40 years. Cort has worked in various positions for newspapers in Oregon and California. He has been an editorial editor, features editor, news editor, as well as a production manager and chief typesetter and photo tech. Never mind last century, here in the millennium Cort traveled to and lived in India for two years teaching young Indians how to write American. He has an interview track published on a CD (Wham Bam, Steve Marriott All-stars on Wapping Wharf Records) released in 2007. ALGONQUIN, his coming-of-age novel set in the Fox River Valley of Northern Illinois, was published in 2013. SISTERS’ SECRET, a crime novel, was published in 2014. KEEPER of an ORDINARY, a thriller, was published in 2015. KEEPER: Trial & Vengeance, a follow-up to KEEPER of an ORDINARY was published Summer 2017. A short story titled: YOU CAN go to HELL is featured in the Nebraska Writers Guild 2017 anthology VOICES from the PLAINS published December 2017. His novels and eBooks are available from internet outlets and stores nationwide. You can find Cort on a Facebook page under Cortbooks, as well as a Twitter account. On his web site: www.cortbooks.com, he writes a monthly blog that he posts to Facebook. Cort is visible and well known in the writing community of Omaha and throughout Nebraska. A member of NE Novelists, he participates in author fairs and conference events, as well as workshops and seminars. Cort was one of two Project Coordinators for Six Corners of Nebraska, a statewide multi-event celebration of the 150th anniversary of statehood for Nebraska. This is in conjunction with his activities as a board member with Nebraska Writers Guild.
