Trapped Within

A True Story of Survival, Recovery, Love, and Hope

That day started like any other but by lunchtime, I was fighting for my very life. A stroke is like that. You don't see it coming. There is nothing to do but let nature take its course - no guarantee I'd live much less return to full health.

So, be prepared to travel through the terror and frustration of paralysis to a place of peace and gratitude where life resides with hope.

This story is written to offer encouragement to stroke survivors, hope to their family members and caretakers, and understanding to medical professionals, or anyone interested in knowing what it's like to be Trapped Within your own body.

"Trapped Within" is a powerful and intimate story about the endurance of the human spirit during a time of life-threatening crisis." RICHARD PAUL EVANS, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author

"This is a must read for anyone with a family history, parent, sibling, child, or one who has experienced a CVA and recovered." LeMoyne F. Johnson M.D., F.A.C.S.

One would expect a book about someone's stroke to be filled with pain and hardships, but the author has kept the tone light, motivational, and witty. "Trapped Within" by Jo Ann Glim is a stroke of genius - no pun intended. Reviewed by Ankita Shukla for Readers' Favorite.

About Jo Ann Glim

Jo Ann V. Glim's professional career began as a disc jockey/copywriter for the Chicago all girl jazz radio station WSDM-FM.

She's been a freelance writer for over forty years and has written two books: the award-winning Begotten With Love and the newly released Trapped Within.

Writing, photography, travel, church, and handbells all rock her world. Two things she loves as much as her family? A Chicago thin-crust pizza and her husband's homemade spaghetti sauce. It's very likely you'll find her hiking trails somewhere with her Scottish terrier, Lucy and camera close by.
