Nineteen Hundred Days

When twelve-year-old Ben’s parents don’t come home from work, he doesn’t know what to think. Fearful of the police and Child Protective Services, he and his six-year-old sister don’t want to end up in foster homes and will do anything to avoid being separated. Their journey—fraught with obstacles and people who may not have their best interests at heart—plays a significant role in building Ben’s character and eventually determining his fate.

"This story grabs you from the beginning and keeps you guessing all the way through the book. I love how Florence weaves tales and incorporates local color and places. A boy placed in seemingly impossible situation and how he handled it. No child should be in that situation but he adapted and grew. Very well written from a boy’s point of view. Truly loved it especially the ending."
