About Eleanor McCain

Having no less a luminary than GRAMMY-Award winning producer David Foster publicly declare “she’s going places” during a star-studded concert, Eleanor McCain has dazzled audiences for more than a decade with a voice the Halifax Chronicle-Herald declared “lovely...full and expressive.”

Hailing from Florenceville, New Brunswick, this triple ECMA-nominated classical crossover specialist has recorded six albums, accompanied symphonies across Canada and has toured with JUNO-nominated jazz singer Matt Dusk, producer of her album Runaway.

In May 2017, Eleanor released her 6th studio album produced by Don Breithaupt, True North: The Canadian Songbook, celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday. The album showcases 32 of Canada’s most iconic songs, interpreted through fresh orchestral arrangements by 14 arrangers, and features 10 Canadian orchestras and 28 guest artists from across the country. A bilingual coffee table book accompanies the double CD, featuring song lyrics, behind-the scenes photographs, quotes from songwriters, landscapes captured by 22 photographers, and portraits by co-curator of the book V. Tony Hauser in select Canadian landscapes featuring Canadian fashion designs.

Based in Toronto, Eleanor McCain is also an active philanthropist. The launch of True North: The Canadian Songbook raised funds in support of Canada’s music education charity, MusiCounts in honour of their 20th Anniversary.
