Deadly Shamrocks III

Blood Ties
Rose O’Bannon and Aaron O’Brien were both native New Yorkers, although they had vastly different backgrounds. They had met under the most unusual of circumstances but learned they had much in common. Together, they opened Shamrock Investigations, a private investigation firm, located in what was once known as Hell’s Kitchen. On one Friday afternoon, a mysterious man comes into the office and asks to speak to Rose. He stated he was a friend of her mother. Hearing these words made a cold chill run down Rose’s spine. She had met others who had claimed to be a friend of her mother when they were anything but. The first things Rose notices about this man is his thick Irish accent, and that his eyes seemed to twinkle when he smiled. Asking how he knew her mother, the man confides in Rose that he is a former member of the Irish Republican Army and that her mother, at one time, was supporting their effort financially. Rose could not believe what she was hearing. Her mother had divulged secrets of her early life to Rose prior to her death, but this was not one of them. Rose was aware her family tree bore dangerous fruit; she was about to learn exactly how dangerous.

She has done it again. What a great story. It is very well written and captures your attention from the beginning. You won't want to put this one down until you are finished reading and then you can't believe it's ended and you want more. Her writing draws you into the book and makes you feel as though you are actually in the book with the people the story line is about. I hope there are a lot more books coming from this author.

The storyline is a good one, and the book moves at a pace that keeps the reader wanting more. The short chapters entice you to read "just one more" before putting the book down. I read it only at bedtime and finished it in three days.

Can't wait for the 4th book! I really enjoyed the characters, and the books have great plots. It was hard for me to put it down.

About J.B. Reed

J.B. Reed was born in Charleston, West Virginia, the youngest of three children. In 1958, her father was transferred to central Ohio and the family settled in a small town by the name of Baltimore. In 1987, J.B. returned to her roots when she and her daughter relocated to Charleston, West Virginia. In 2006 J.B. accepted a job transfer and found herself once again residing in Ohio; this time in southern Ohio, in a little town by the name of Proctorville, where she currently resides.

J.B. tried her hand at writing children's stories in her twenties, but with working a full time job and with her daughter's school activies, time was at a premium and writing was placed on the back burner. Demands on her time are less these days, and J.B. has found that she now has the freedom required to devote to writing....her true passion.

J. B.'s crime novel series, Deadly Shamrocks, is a selection of three books. Deadly Shamrocks was released in September 2010. Deadly Shamrocks II - It's All Relative, was released in March 2011. Deadly Shamrocks III - Blood Ties, was released in July 2013. All three books feature Irish American characters who will reveal the sinister side of Irish life.

Dark Reminiscence is J.B.'s latest book. The story is about a best selling author residing in New York City, who must return to the small central Ohio town where she had grown up for the funeral of her mother. Once home and staying in the family home, odd things begin to occur, things that seem to be leading her to remember things that had happened in her past that she long ago blocked out. Only with the help of her childhood best friend will she be able to recall the dark reminiscence. You will find Dark Reminiscence in paperback and Kindle version exclusively on Amazon.
