Black Mesa the Final Report

Who do you trust?

Black Mesa the Final Report explodes into an alt-espionage series that begins in the past, September 28, 2009, when Washington is attacked and the government decapitated by a nuclear weapon believed to be planted by terrorists. The operant word here is “believed.” In the story, Guild, a Senate investigator, uncovers the origins of the plot against the government. But there’s a twist. If he unravels the conspiracy, he risks setting off a nuclear war. The story of how he becomes part of an underground working to find the truth about the attack, while avoiding a catastrophic nuclear exchange, chisels out the arc of the series, where thieves plunder the Red Cross for precious blood supplies, and Twitter brands them "vampires"; YouTube takes over the news, and Talk Radio babbles about a Second Coming. All the while, oligarchs plot the nation's route to their build "their kind" of democracy.
