Did you know that your readers can sign up for your MailChimp email list right on Facebook? Well, they can and this is how you do it.
First, Integrate Your MailChimp and Facebook Accounts
Before you can add an email sign-up form to your Facebook author page, you first need to integrate MailChimp with your Facebook account. To accomplish this, go to MailChimp and click Account and then Integrations.
Next, click Facebook to connect your account.
Once you log in and grant permission to MailChimp through your profile, your account will be connected.
Adding MailChimp to your Facebook page is easy. Go to the MailChimp page where you connected your Facebook profile and select the page you want to integrate with MailChimp. Then select an email list. Also, indicate that you are setting up a special tab on Facebook.
Create the New Sign-Up Tab for Your FB Page
Next, select a form theme and decide on a name for the tab that will appear on Facebook. Then click Save.
You’ll find the newsletter tab on Facebook by looking in the left column.
Changing Your Email List Sign-up Form
Changing your Facebook-MailChimp form is super easy. Just select a different list and the sign-up form you designed for that list will appear. For example, I previously chose my Newsletter for Writers list and that sign-up form displayed on my Facebook page. But in writing this post, I decided to change the sign-up form so I simply pulled from a different list.
This is how my sign-up tab looks on Facebook:
What to Keep in Mind When Linking MailChimp to Facebook
Remember that before you can add the MailChimp sign-up form to your Facebook page you’ll first need to integrate your Facebook profile with MailChimp. You can only have one sign-up form on each Facebook author page. At this time, it’s not possible to have a sign-up form on a Facebook profile even though you integrate MailChimp with Facebook through your profile.
Also, your MailChimp sign-up form will only be visible on the desktop version of Facebook, not on the mobile version.
If you decide that you want to change the call to action or the text of your sign-up form, you’ll need to make those changes on MailChimp. When you edit a sign-up form on MailChimp, the form will also be revised on Facebook because the two are integrated.
—Tabs have a unique URL. Use the link with a call to action in your tweets and LinkedIn messages as well as Facebook status updates.
—Create a Facebook page banner image with the benefits of subscribing and a call to action to join your list.
—Pin a post to the top of your timeline encouraging readers to subscribe to your email list and use the URL of your new tab.
—Always give away a special gift to encourage sign-ups.
